Our philosophy
Childhood experiences set the stage for a lifetime of learning.
Children are in the most amazing phase of their life, and we want to be elemental in it. One step at a time, we give children up to 5 years old a rich, fulfilling learning experience with a focus on mindful learning.
Our Reggio-inspired approach suits the full range of temperaments and learning styles. Our centre is licensed by the Fraser Health authority.

Our program
Carefully planned to meet a child’s need for fun and excitement, while providing learning opportunities for physical, cognitive, emotional and social growth.
Every part has a purpose. We follow the child’s lead, and take inspiration from the environment, the seasons and our surroundings.

Before we begin our day, we calm our bodies and collect ourselves, breathing deeply until the sound of our bell fades away.

Social emotional development
Free Play
Children choose where to play, from pretend play, drama and building blocks to table toys, a library corner, arts and crafts and sensory activities. Each area is thoughtfully set up for their development, and educators offer positive guidance as children learn to share, respect limits and play together.

Being responsible
Clean Up
A five-minute reminder helps children know what to expect. Tidying their play area, and helping friends with theirs, teaches them to act on information and clean up after themselves.

Participation
Circle Time
We gather on the carpet for a greeting song, a chat about the weather, stories, discussions, movement songs and games. It builds thinking, listening and talking skills, and is a great way to introduce new ideas as a group.

Leadership
Show and Tell
Children bring something special from home to show and talk about with their friends, building self-esteem, a sense of belonging and the confidence to express their thoughts.

Health and well-being
Snack Time
We eat together in small groups and chat about all sorts of things. An educator sits with the children as a role model and guides conversation about health and well-being.

Physical Education
Outdoor, indoor, yoga and music movement
Park play, neighbourhood walks, playground fun, music, movement and yoga, always supervised, with a first aid kit on every outing. Children learn to solve problems, share and respect each other’s feelings while building physical, intellectual and spatial abilities.

Creativity and imagination
Arts and Crafts
An open-ended art table with materials and support on hand, where there is no right or wrong way to create, plus structured art on some days. It is the process, and not the product, that is important.

Preeti Sharma
Early Childhood Educator
Preeti is a licensed Early Childhood Educator with 20 years of experience working with children, including in Supported Child Development. She is committed to professional development every year.
She enjoys music, and long nature walks with her husband and two children.

Preeti is an educator par excellence. We are blessed to have her as our child's teacher. If you are lucky to find a place in her care for your child, grab it with both hands! Your child will thank you later. We tried out a few daycares for our daughter before settling with Preeti. There are multiple large daycares in the neighborhood that are well run and have all the certifications and material comforts. But when we met Preeti it became clear that her passion as an educator and commitment to nurturing young minds is unmatched. She is not just doing a job, she is devoted to her calling.
